Catholic Jew: The Tribes of Asher and Gad of O Haplogroup
A video posted by Shelby Rabara (@shelbyrabara) on

Catholic Jew [I am a fifth generation Australian of Anglo Jewish and Anglo-Celtic ancestry]The Kuki-Chin-Mizo Jews are in fact not descendants of the Tribe of Manesseh on their male line but many of them are descendants of the Lost Tribe of Asher [O-M268] and others of Gad. However it is quite possible that one of their ancestors was called Manasseh but was from the Tribe of Asher. Their ancestors may have been part of the military forces of the last King of Israel, Osee [Hoshea], who led Eastern Manesseh with the tribes of Asher and Gad into the East. Osee is an ancestor of the Japanese Samurai according to others. It would seem that many Koreans and Japanese are also descendants of the Tribe of Asher. It would seem that the Nias of Indonesia and the aboriginal Taiwanese belong mainly to the Tribe of Gad. The people of Thailand are mainly of the Tribe of Asher with also a strong input from the Tribe of Gad. [T]he Tribe of Gad called the Hani or Chani [Chin] went with the Tribe of Asher and the Manassehite King Osee [Hoshea/ Huaxia/ Yellow Emperor] of Samaria [Israel] into western China around 600 BC. The original Han Chinese are mostly of this O-M122 clan of Gad. King Osee was known as Susanoo to the Japanese. He married Princess Kushi the daughter of the Prince of Asher [Nasi Asher/ Ashi-nadzuchi] and his wife Amahterasu [Amah-Te] the daughter of the Queen Mother of the West, Hephzibah of Judah [Hsi-wang-mu/ Izanami], and her husband King Hezekiah of Judah [Izanagi]. Queen Kushi’s brother Prince Ame of Asher [Ashi/ Oshi] was the ancestor of Jimmu the first Japanese Emperor [c.400 BC].

Simcha Jacobovici: According to the Jewish historian Josephus, during his lifetime in the 1st century, the whereabouts of the exiled tribes was known. One of the lost tribes i.e., one of the tribes exiled from Israel by the Assyrians in the 8th century BCE, was the tribe of Gad. Is it a coincidence that the word "Gad," "Guad" in Spanish, appears everywhere embedded in the geography of southern Spain e.g., Gaudalete, Gaudalquivir and Guadiana. More than this, ancient Cadiz was called "Gadir" – the land of the Gadareans. In Hebrew, "Gadir" means the city of Gad and, to this day, the citizens of Cadiz do not call themselves Cadizians, but "Gaditanos" i.e., Gadites. The long lost Gadites have been found.

Katie: We wanted a relaxed, fun wedding that really reflected us, our families and our backgrounds. Jay comes from a Jewish family and my mum is Filipino, so we incorporated elements of both cultures into our day, particularly into the ceremony. We wrote our own vows, which were a surprise on the day. We also incorporated a lot of handmade elements. My mum made the cake, all the desserts, my veil and my flower girl’s dress. We also handmade the invitations, the Chuppah, the place cards, the chalkboard signs and the favours.

President Benigno Aquino III of the Philippines is now hinting at running for a second term in 2016, which would require a constitutional amendment.||

Michaela del Calla: At this time we are sorry to inform the general public that the embassy of Israel in the Philippines, along with all Israeli embassies worldwide, will be closed until further notice. This is the first time in the history of Israel that such a situation has occurred. The decision to close all embassies was made with a heavy heart by the Foreign Ministry’s employees’ labor union. This drastic step comes as the Ministry of Finance has not seen fit to reach a compromise with the workers’ legitimate demands for a fair wage and reasonable work conditions. We hope that with this course of action we can influence others in ensuring that we and our families and our ministry have a more prosperous future.
ISRAEL FOREIGN AFFAIRS: In Philippine traditional society, Philippine women can not make their own marriages. Most of their marriages are arranged by elders or the family of the boys. We want to say the beauty of Philippine women who are beautiful and gentle, patient and respectful to the Philippine traditional custom. that’s, they take a good care of their husband and children. A Philippine woman usually doesn’t get divorced if she’s an unfaithful husband because she always try to work it out to maintain her family and raise her children. A Philippine woman usually keeps traditional family custom. When you meet with A Philippine girl, you’ll see what I’m talking about here. Will see Philippine ladies are the most pretty women on the world. In other words, Philippine women are someone who are honest, pretty. Faithful to their husbands because of their family oriented custom which you rarely find in Western women, generally. Moreover, their faithful characteristics to their husbands and unlimited satisfaction of taking care of their children make Philippine women unique. Filipino ladies from Asia countries such as Japan, China, Korea, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam. Etc are the top. Philippine women who are currently living in the Western countries are the next best. Why Filipino women are the top women? Because they can cook delicious dinner and there are no guilt trips for going out with the guys after getting married. they’re skinny, thin. Beautiful and there are no fights between husband and wife. In fact, when a Western guy find and talk to A Philippine woman, they never want to date with Western girls again. Moreover, Filipino ladies always keep classy, cultured, traditional values.

Israeli Ambassador to Manila Menashe Bar-On: It is sad, the strike. It is not something we wished to happen, but there is no other way. Joining the foreign service is a sacrifice, not just for the diplomat but for his family as well – particularly the spouse. Wives and husbands of diplomats leave their careers in their country when their partner gets posted. They make a huge sacrifice to keep their family together, they give their lives to the foreign service as well. But when their husband or wife retires from the foreign service, what happens to them? The diplomats will get pension, but the spouses, after sacrificing their careers in the private sector to represent their country abroad, will not be compensated when they are of retirement age. I am retiring next year. Government officials my age who are in other departments will have two pensions to support them in old age – one for them and one for their wives. Me and my wife will have to live with just one pension. I am lucky here in the Philippines, there are a lot of people who speak good English. They are easy to find and hiring them is not hard. However, for my colleagues abroad, in countries like China and Japan, it is harder for them. In our case in Manila, we have staff members that leave for better paying jobs. I am not the type of boss who would stop my employees from leaving once they find a job with better compensation. It happens and I am happy for them. But if I can make my staff stay longer instead of hiring a replacement after a short while, it would be better. We hope it would end soon. We hope the negotiations go well and that we can re-open the embassy soon.

CAROL RAMORAN: Unlike Filipino tourists who do not need a visa to visit Israel, caregivers and other workers need a special kind of visa. Similar problems are encountered abroad – the hiring of construction workers from China and workers for the agricultural sector coming from Thailand have also been affected by the strike. Until such a time that Israeli diplomats decide to go back to work, the Philippines and Israel won’t be able to sign an air services agreement, which would allow 21 direct flights between the two countries every week. A boost in tourism for both countries will have to wait.

MALKOOS MALAYO

義淨: When the northeastern wind blows, we sail leaving Canton heading south... After sailing for twenty days, we reach the land of Srivijaya. We stay there for about six months to learn Sabdavidya. The king was very kind to us. He helped send us to the land of Malayu, where we stayed for two months. Later we continued our journey to Kedah... Sailing northward from Kedah, we reached the island of naked people... From here we sailed westward for half a month and finally reached Tamralipti.

Avi Lebowitz: The pasuk writes by adam, when he was thrown out of gan eden - וישכן מקדם לגן עדן, and by kayin when he was thrown out -וישב בארץ נוד קדמת עדן, both seem to contradict the pasuk ויטע ה' אלקים גן בעדן מקדם, which implies that gan eden was most to the east. How can they be thrown out to the east if they were already on the most eastern spot in the world?

R' Shalomi Eldar pointed out to me that although rashi seems to translate the word קדם in all these places as east, unkelos seems to translate as a place set aside from before. Therefore, according to unkelos both gan eden and the place they were exiled to were set up in advance for that purpose.
Eating Cooking Fooding: We (mom, Barak and I) wanted to make a spacial surprise for dad’s birthday. We know that he’s not the kind of person to enjoy dinner in a fancy restaurant so we decided to make reservations to the most authentic Philippine karaoke bar / restaurant in Israel – Mommy’s place.
Upon arriving the place we had to get permission to enter as this place is highly secured. I have made reservation for 18 people on a Friday night, but I was was warned it will be very crowded. After waiting outside for couple of minutes we were led inside.
It’s obviouse the kitchen is secondery to the Kareoke bar and food is made to accompany drinks, mostly fried stuff. Unfortunately the Adobo dish – the only Philippians dish wasn’t available so it was more Thai dishes I guess. Dror brought some fancy bottles of wine that we opened, they were all excellent. Thanks Dror! There were two singers that pretty much took over the mic and sang in English, Thai, Japanese and unrecognized languages. The crowd was cheering, clapping and dancing. The main experience was the unique atmosphere of the place. The music at the beginning was 90′s pop classics (Fun!) that changed to the karaoke theme pretty fast.

So this was a very big success overall, everyone had a great time, especially dad! Keep in mind when going there that reservations are doubtful even when confirmed ahead of time, just arrive pretty early if it’s a weekend night. Also they don’t except credit cards. The owner Yossi was very welcoming and invited us to come to an opening event of his second restaurant in Nataniya.

In the migratory tradition of Ruth begun more than two millennia ago, a remnant of David and Solomon migrated into Maritime Southeast Asia which comprises what is now Brunei, East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, and Singapore, as well as Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia, with a sizeable minority of Malays migrating back to their tribal allotments in Sephardic Judah, besides Terrestrial and Figurative Jordan.
