Tamar Kadari: What gifts did Abraham nevertheless give the sons of Keturah? And they reply: he gave them “the name of impurity.” This apparently means that he taught them the secrets of sorcery
Mae Mediavilla: I got to fulfill one of my childhood dreams—to visit the biblical place Jordan.

Maricel: Small acts of kindness that have had lasting impacts on my life.
Arthur Waskow: Traditionally, the marriage of Ruth and Boaz is regarded as the key linkage that leads toward the birth of David — shepherd, king, and psalmist. Ruth and Boaz lead therefore to that descendant of King David who is yet to come: King Messiah.
Roy S. Neuberger: Who could have predicted that Dovid Hamelech would arise from Moav or from Yehudah’s encounter with Tamar? This was incomprehensible and unpredictable. Even Shmuel Hanovi was taken by surprise. But it happened! So will it be with the coming of Moshiach ben Dovid.

יובל שטייניץ: After years of arguments and delays, we are beginning to move forwards and to a situation in which Israel is a natural gas superpower in the region. Exporting to Egypt, in accordance with the government’s approval, is the first sign of energy cooperation of many in the coming years with other countries in the region, such as Egypt, Jordan, Greece, and Turkey, as well as with Europe, as a whole.

IMAHOT MOONS

Midrash Aggadah, ed. Buber, Gen. 29:24: Zilpah was Rachel’s handmaiden and her father exchanged her for Bilhah when he deceived Jacob, so that Zilpah became Leah’s handmaiden.

Leah Shaindel: Rebbetzin Tziporah Heller says, and im not sure where she got this from, but she says in a shiur that some peoples’ roles are to be like the sun, giving light, and others’ are to be like the moon, reflecting others’ light. Bilhah and Zilpah, were to reflect Leah’s and Rachel’s light. So that the greater they were, the more selfless they were, merging their selves into Rachel and Leah until Bilhah and Rachel became "one" and Leah and Zilpah became "one."

SALEMPEARCE: Bilhah and Zilpah speak not a word in the Torah.
SALEMPEARCE: If, in the logic of the Bible, patrilineal descent is what matters, then Bilhah and Zilpah deserve as much recognition as the traditional four matriarchs for their role in the creation of the Israelite people.

Gen. Rabbah 71:30: Zilpah was the youngest of Jacob’s four wives and her pregnancy was not apparent; therefore the Torah states merely that ‘she bore’ (Gen. 30:10–12), in contrast with the other Matriarchs, of each of whom it is also said ‘she conceived’ (Gen. Rabbah 71:30).

AshurLeaks: Do you include Zilpah and Bilhah in the Amidah? jw
takaeo: no? i didn’t know that was a thing?

Thanks for signing East Timor and Indonesia Action Network’s petition.

José Manuel Ramos-Horta: With a native Timorese mother and Portuguese father, I can trace back my Jewish background to the period when Jews were forced to convert to Christianity. My name is a very typical Jewish name in Portugal, but even before I knew that I had some Jewish background, I was always fascinated by the Jewish history.
Maayan Navon - Keren Hayesod: KH-UIA-Friends of Israel-Indonesia Delegation
Itamar Eichner: The warming relations between Israel and the moderate Muslim world on the backdrop of the crisis with Iran and the global jihad threat can be felt in the tourism industry as well.
The highest number of tourists arrived from Indonesia – 124,719 visitors in the past six years. The year 2013 saw the arrival of 29,517 tourists from Indonesia, more than three times the number of tourists who arrived from that country in 2009 (9,442).
A total of 23,483 tourists arrived from Malaysia in the past six years. While only 584 arrived in 2009, the number of arrivals from Malaysia jumped to 7,859 in 2013.
It should be noted that if tourists from these countries ask not to have their passports stamped upon entering or exiting Israel so as not to get in trouble when they enter Arab countries, the state agrees.
The Arab and Muslim tourists arrive in Israel both through Ben-Gurion Airport and through the border crossings with Jordan.
ISRAEL AND PHILIPPINES AGREE TO INCREASE FLIGHTS: In 2012, approximately 13,450 Filipinos visited the Holy Land while only 5,895 Israelis visited the Philippines. Filipinos are entitled to visit Israel visa-free for up to 90 days.
Emanuel Shahaf: Indeed, the need for, and the difficulty of achieving consensus―a central tenet of Indonesian culture, particularly in Javanese society, which dominates Indonesian politics―is itself an obstacle to the further development of Israel-Indonesia relations. And there is no such consensus regarding relations with Israel. In fact, everything associated with Israel requires careful management.

Emanuel Shahaf: few Indonesians differentiate between Jews and Israelis
Emanuel Shahaf: incidentally, the book Start-up Nation will be published in the Indonesian language soon

Emanuel Shahaf: What, then, can be done―if anything―to unlock the potential for a more productive Israel-Indonesia relationship? An important initial step would be a more liberal policy accepting Israeli tourists on individual visas, maybe in the beginning restricted to Bali.
Joni: The newest group of Filipinos made happy by the island of Bali. Yes, we *had to* wear those sarongs otherwise they won’t let us in the vicinity.

Walang ligaya sa lupa na hindi dinilig ng luha.

Filipino Proverb: There is no earthly bliss not watered by tears.

Bnei Lot are of an ancient origin. In the migratory tradition of Ruth begun more than two millennia ago, a remnant of David and Solomon migrated into Maritime Southeast Asia which comprises what is now Brunei, East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, and Singapore, as well as Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia, with a sizeable minority of Malays migrating back to their tribal allotments in Sephardic Judah, besides Terrestrial and Figurative Jordan.
