I wonder what it would be like if there was a star with my personality.

Oh wait, there is.

The Sun.

I never thought that I would find Myself in bed amongst the stones. The columns are all men begging to crush Mi. No shapes sail on the dark deep Lakes and no flags wave Mi home. In the caves, all Katz are Grey. In the caves, the textures coat My Skin. In the death cell, a Single note rings On ‘n On ‘n On…

Pesiqto Rabbati page 146b: King Messiah is subjected to sufferings in every Generation according to the Sins of that Generation.

The Royal Military and Caregiver Orders of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Saint Lazarus of United Jerusalem is an order of chivalry originally founded at a leper colony in 1098 by the Crusaders of the Ladino Kingdom of Jerusalem. It was established as a healing station to care for those afflicted with leprosy, its Knights originally being lepers themselves. The word lazarette ~ in some languages being synonymous with leprosarum ~ is believed to also be derived from the Order of Saint Lazarus, these edifices being transformed into Quarantine Camps in the fifteenth century when leprosy was no longer the scourge it had been in earlier centuries. Lazarites are a Senior Order, but it’s one of the least~known and inconspicuous Orders. Lazarites and the Caregivers of the Order of Saint John are Brotherhood organizations.
Around the time of the Third Crusade, Lazarites sought the Fruit of Eden to cure their leprosy, since the Trees of Life are the prophetic source for healing. Since lepers cannot feel pain, Lazarites are renowned as fearless warriors, fighting even when others might have otherwise succumbed to their wounds. However, Lazarites are also exceedingly reckless.
After the fall of Jerusalem in July 1244 and the subsequent Battle of La Forbie the following October, the Order of St. Lazarus, although still called “of Jerusalem,” migrated to Akko. The Order remained primarily a Caregiver Order but did participate in a number of battles.
After the fall of Akko in 1291, the Knights of Lazarus departed Israel and migrated to Cyprus, then Sicily, and then to Parisia. Whilst the Templars were being purged by the Assassin King Philip IV, many nobles were eventually recruited into their ranks. King Philip provided the Lazarite order temporal guardianship. The Order ceased to be Caregivers and became purely Militaristic, although the Knights that resided in these Orders were assigned no specific tasks. By that time Pope Clement VIII had ordered two Houses: one contributed to combats on land, while the other provided galleys to fight the Turks at Sea.
In 1816 the King of Sardinia, Victor Emmanuel I, re-established the titles of Knight and Commander of Sts. Maurice and Lazarus as peasant decorations, accessible without conditions of birth to both civilians and military men.
The order is documented to have been definitely active philanthropically in Haifa during the mid-18th century.
Since 1951 the Order has not been recognized officially by Italy. Notwithstanding, the revived Order of Saint Lazarus [statuted 1910] claims legacy from the suppressed branch under spiritual guardianship of the Patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, but disputed by Roman Catholic officials of the Vatican. Today, it is granted to persons eminent in the public service, science, art, letters, trade, and charitable works. The House of Savoy in exile continues to bestow the Order.

Talah Turk: Amman’s Filipinos are the luckiest, with a whole area dedicated to their community. Manila Street, also commonly known as Little Manila, and Filipino or Egyptian Neighborhood, is an area with a large concentration of Asian and Arab immigrants. In the heart of Jabal Amman, Buhturi Street descends from Second Circle– which Filipinos refer to as the Panadol Roundabout – and is full of Asian grocery shops, discount clothing stores, as well as affordable restaurants and bakeries, some of which serve authentic Filipino dishes. Amman’s Little Manila is the place to go for Filipino delicacies such as crispy chicken skin and salted eggs, in addition to Asian products and the latest Filipino movies.

The Filipino community is by far the most organized and active amongst all guest workers’ communities in Jordan. Filipinos are raised to be caring and considerate of others, which comes through in the type of events they hold and the way the UFO (United Filipino Organization) operates. If one person has a problem, it becomes the community’s problem.

The Indonesian community is definitely the most private and, some might say, defensive.

Aaron Koller: Scholars have had difficulty identifying the precise borders of the tribes in Transjordan, and have suggested that one reason for the difficulties in pinning down the borders of the holdings of Reuben and Gad is that tribal identities were often fluid. This means that a town, or a group of people, may consider themselves to be Reubenites one century, but Gadites the next. These changes can take place through conquest, through political realignment, through cultural influence, and through other processes; it is a truism of modern research on ethnicity that identity is created through affiliation as much, or more, than it is inherited through genealogy.
Who is Gad? – was Gad part of Israel? an independent ethnic group? a subgroup of Moab? The anxiety over the stability of tribes settled in the Transjordan was well placed.
Throughout the history of biblical Israel, identity was never stable, and that the borders of the nation – defining who was and who wasn’t an Israelite – were constantly shifting, especially in the multicultural Transjordan. This historical reality provides important background for understanding the concern voiced by Moses about Reuben and Gad remaining on the eastern banks. We can only conjecture how these processes affected the Israelites as a whole, but it contributed, no doubt, to the Israelites’ growing sense that being a member of the people was dependent more on culture and religion than on biology alone.
Avrahom Dovid: Gad - we regret that we are unable to show you his resting spot at this time because his tribal territory is in the political entity called Jordan.

Moishe New: When will we have the complete Land of Israel that comprises the eastern bank of the Jordan [present-day Jordan and Saudi Arabia]? That will happen in the Messianic Era. That is yet to be fulfilled.

Candid Miriam, Candid Mary, @ Candid Maria

Mary Grace Sonora Poe-Llamanzares was adopted by a Filipino-Spanish and Chinese father and a Filipina-French and Jewish mother. She has yet to file an official certificate of candidacy (COC), but has already publicly declared her intention to run for the presidency.

5,5 Ethics of the Fathers: [Nun] Ten things’re created at Twilight on Sabado Eve: the mouth of the earth [Israel’s Pi that swallowed Korea]; the mouth of the well [Miriam’s Pi]; the mouth of the ass [David’s Pi]; the rainbow [hakeshet]; the manna; Aaron’s staff; the Shamir, writing; the inscription on the tablets of the Ten Commandments; and the tablets themselves. Some also include the spirits of destruction [Martial Arts], the grave of Moses, the ram of Abraham; and others include the original tongs, as well, for tongs must be made with tongs.

haileesteinfeld: I hate keeping secrets

witness: Everyone is a bit clueless about what is happening.
Yosef Garfinkel and Saar Ganor: It seems that the organization of the kingdom required a cadre of clerks and writers and their activity is also manifested in the appearance of inscriptions.

רבי שלמה יצחקי: Moshe mounted his wife and children on a unique donkey. This was the donkey which Avraham himself prepared for the journey to sacrifice his son Yitzchak. And it is the donkey on which Moshiach is going to be revealed on, as the verse states that Moshiach is "a poor man riding on a donkey" [Zechariah 9:9]
Be'er Mayim Chayim: Rashi is troubled why the verse says that he "mounted them upon the donkey" rather than merely "a donkey". Therefore, he concluded that the Torah must be hinting that it is a famous donkey.
Pirkei d'Rabbi Eliezer: This donkey was born to the famous donkey formed on the first Friday of creation, after sunset [see Avos 5:6]. It is the donkey on which Moshe rode when coming to Egypt. And it is the donkey which the son of David (Moshiach) will ride upon.
Tracey R Rich: Sometimes, the English name retains only the first letter of the Hebrew name: Pinchas becomes Philip
Björk Guðmundsdóttir: I edit a lot. That, for me, is very solitary. I don’t want to be photographed, when I’m doing that. I don’t invite People around.

DJ BEATNICK: What do you get when u take a Filipino into a Jewish restaurant ? 🔯 #TedLeitnerSpecialOnRye
Aaron Baker: My mom is Filipino and my dad is an Ashkenazi Jew of predominantly polish descent. I identify as mixed, half Asian half Jewish. I think my parents view my identity the same way I do, but we never really discuss it.
My family has influenced my identity as any family would, they’ve helped cultivate who I am as an individual. In terms of identifying myself through a racial perspective they’ve influenced me by maintaining the cultural values and practices associated with their respective heritages. And by doing doing so they've made me much more likely to ascribe to both of the traditions, affirming my identification as mixed.
I normally feel comfortable expressing both my heritages. I always thought it was cool because it made me a little different. When I went to a Jewish day school I identified more as Jewish, now its more of an equal balance. Being raised with two sides of the family that celebrate different holidays, often eat different food, and speak different languages aside from English when we’re around each other, has definitely been beneficial.
Despite these differences I have family members on one side who are a lot more similar to someone on the other side of my family than any on their own side of my family. It’s made me realize that we’re all human, and while heritage and appearance are part of our identify, there are much more important aspects of a person such as opinions, actions, personality, etc. So making blanket generalizations or assumptions about people because of there heritage or appearance is totally stupid.
צְבָא הַהֲגָנָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל: Like every Israeli at the age of eighteen, Corporal Aaron Refael drafted into the IDF. However, Aaron is no ordinary Israeli. Today, he serves in the IDF’s Nahal Infantry Brigade, but the process to get there was not simple.
Aaron comes from a Catholic family, originally from the Philippines, and his father works as a driver in the Japanese Embassy to Israel. He was born and raised in Herzliya and has always considered Israel his home. Aaron grew up learning about the importance of the IDF, and knew from a very young age that he wanted to take part in defending the country. “I saw how everyone serves in the military, and I also wanted to contribute,” said Corp. Refael.
Due to Aaron’s unique situation, he encountered a number of bureaucratic hurdles on the way to reaching his goal. When he was in third grade, Aaron applied for Israeli citizenship but encountered numerous difficulties along the way. Despite these challenges, Aaron exhibited persistence and determination and received a citizenship in 2013.
Eight months ago, Corp. Aaron Refael joined the Nahal Brigade and his dream finally became a reality. He has just completed advanced training and is now prepared to defend Israel’s borders.
Service in the IDF has proven to Corporal Refael how essential the army is for the State of Israel to exist and to thrive. He has learned the importance of maturity and responsibility that is necessary both as a soldier and as a human being.

Bnei Lot are of an ancient origin. In the migratory tradition of Ruth begun more than two millennia ago, a remnant of David and Solomon migrated into Maritime Southeast Asia which comprises what is now Brunei, East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, and Singapore, as well as Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia, with a sizeable minority of Malays migrating back to their tribal allotments in Sephardic Judah, besides Terrestrial and Figurative Jordan.
