AVI BINUR: MERCY GATE בָּרוּךְ הַשֵׁם

Can you believe that only 53 years ago, our marriage (between a Jewish man and Filipina woman) would’ve been illegal here in the US? That means there wouldn’t have been a chance of the best drizzleable organic peanut butter, minimal ingredient jams, beautiful, smart children and lots of love spreading if that racist law still existed today. 🖤 Thanks to Loving v. Virginia that was decided on June 12, 1967 against Virginia’s ban on interracial marriages, interracial couples can now marry. This was just one of the many systemic race problems we have in this country. I know so many of us can appreciate that this is no longer an issue. 🖤 Now that it’s 2020, we are still faced with many of these systemic racism challenges. Our hope is that by learning, acting and continuing the conversations around #allblacklivesmatter, we can fix these problems so that our younger generations won’t have to suffer through them too. 🖤 We will continue to use our platform to raise melanated and marginalized voices. We will share more recipes from BIPOC because we all need to learn how to cook and eat foods from different rich cultures - we believe this is an important step in understanding one’s culture. We’ll continue to donate our time and money through our #spreadtheloveforward initiative to communities that continue to be affected by our broken system. 🖤 We know we’ve heard so many promises made lately. Let’s all make sure we keep each other accountable when we feel like changes are not being made and if those promises are being broken. #lovingday #keepspreadingthelove #nomorewhiteprivilege

Filipino Proverb: There is no earthly bliss not watered by tears.

Bnei Lot are of an ancient origin. In the migratory tradition of Ruth begun more than two millennia ago, a remnant of David and Solomon migrated into Maritime Southeast Asia which comprises what is now Brunei, East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, and Singapore, as well as Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia, with a sizeable minority of Malays migrating back to their tribal allotments in Sephardic Judah, besides Terrestrial and Figurative Jordan.
