Similarly, there must have been intermingling between the tribe of Asher and the Phoenicians, for it says, "The Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites…for they did not drive them out" [Judg. 1:32], while the whole of the Valley of Acre and the southern Phoenician coast remained in Phoenician hands.
