A: Black (equal amounts of Scarlet + Blue + Yellow) + White (Green + Orange + Lavender) = Gray or Blue + Brown = Grey or Scarlet + Blue + Yellow + White (Green + Orange + Lavender) = Grey, a Neutral Color, along with Black, White, and occasionally Brown, a Tertiary Color made from all three Primary Colors of Scarlet + Blue + Yellow, as well as Olive.
Q: Where do Lions come from?
A: Lions come from Africa and Asia and are considered an ambassador species like Pandas. P.l. persica is known as the Asiatic Lion or South Asian Lion, Persian Lion, or Indian Lion. P.l. senegalensis, known as the West African Lion, is found in western Africa, from Senegal to the Central African Republic. P.l. azandica, known as the northeast Congo Lion, is found in the northeastern parts of the Congo. P.l. nubica, known as the East African Lion or Masai Lion is found in East Africa, from Ethiopia and Kenya to Tanzania and Mozambique; a local population is known as the Tsavo Lion. P.l. bleyenberghi, known as the southwest African Lion or Katanga Lion, is found in southwestern Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Angola, Katanga (Democratic Republic of the Congo), Zambia, and Zimbabwe. P.l. krugeri, known as the southeast African Lion or Transvaal lion, is found in the Transvaal region of southeastern Africa. The potential of a newly discovered/discerned lion could exist in a sanctuary guarded by Ethiopia’s capital city of Addis Ababa. As of late November 2012 Internet news item mentions darko lions in a sanctuary with the males covered in a rare luxurious mane. Another eleven Lions believed to be Barbary Lions live in Addis Ababa, descendants of Lions kept by Emperor Haile Selassie. Lions are known to breed with Tigers (most often the Siberian and Bengal subspecies) to create hybrids called ligers and tiglons (or tigons). Lions also breed with Leopards to produce leopons, and Jaguars to produce jaglions. The marozi is reputedly a spotted lion or a naturally occurring leopon, while the Congolese spotted lion is a complex lion-jaguar-leopard hybrid called a lijagulep. Hybrids are bred in private menageries in China. The White Lion is not a distinct subspecies, but a special morph with a genetic condition, Leucism, that causes paler coloration akin to that of the White Tiger. The condition is similar to Melanism, which creates Black Panthers. They are not Albinos, having normal pigmentation in the eyes and skin. The rare cream color of their coats is due to a recessive gene. White Transvaal Lions (Panthera leo krugeri) occasionally have been encountered in and around South Africa.
