AVI BINUR: MERCY GATE בָּרוּךְ הַשֵׁם

Phantom Climb

Charles 샬롬,

Found our conversation dynamic, as always. Spoke with a friend, Nina (who's attending SUNY Purchase for new media) afterwards over the phone in the parking lot about stuff, like her Palestinian Christian bf who's a photographer and trying to convince her to take more risks (she attended Nyack College). It annoys me when Christians with gifts from Gd do not utilize them fully. Told her they should be chronicling the atrocities committed against Christians in the region more, with caution.

Visited Victoria Maracha afterwards. She and her husband Francisco are afflicted with cancer (there's footage of him online with his Phantom Limb; can't find it at the moment). Family members were present, sorta meandering, while perusing fb, admiring photos, in a lazy, defeated sorta way. I used to be the type to tackle stuff. I've grown accustomed to Silent Screaming. As such, my cousin Leslie Maracha, who is caring for my aunt and uncle, and I will be recording video, photographing and interviewing them, a la Yad Vashem archives. Suggested we do so, even before her grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. She sorta feels guilty about the timing of her lack of awareness. I'll be visiting them this afternoon.

That evening, I sang with the Rockland County Choral Society. Mostly local elderly folks singing to a pretty difficult score to an adaptation of Gershwin and Hammerstein standards (a pair of famous Heebs, btw). I'm pretty sure there were Presbyterians in the house (rehearsals take place mostly at Felix Festa school; my audition is in two weeks time; i'll be recording it). I was reminded of David Hanson as conductor. Can you send me his official emails? Would like to forward him a video and stuff. Feels good to be around all that wisdom, like sitting under Juniper Trees.

Anyway, looking forward to what you come up with. I'd like to purchase a store of products by the end of this month and feature your graphic design(s) and bring a bit more attention to the burgeoning Israel-Asia partnership.

Also, would you be interested in blogging about Korean-Israeli topics, themes, newstories? You sorta have ties to them, so if you're interested in cultivating that, then feel free to document and represent. I'll send you an email invitation to co-author. Basically, Micro-blog posts suffice, although I do write longer ones, sometimes even previously unpublished poems, usually with accompanying video. Or sometimes just visual specs with catchy title. Pretty simple. Get a bit more traffic at Bahay Yosef, at the moment.

Will be attending the Sundance Shorts Program at Jacob Burns Film Center this evening, if it doesn't snow too bad, along with my friend, Nina. Won a pair of tickets and don't want them to go to waste. Am hoping to come away with some scene footage to post on YouTube.

You should really do something with folks requesting Arnis gatherings. Even if it's just introductory spiels about the martial artform, during the winter. I'd like to participate and record footage. Been studying Korean Arts for awhile now, as well. I'll email you blogposts about Samulnori and Sukkot.

Take care,

In the migratory tradition of Ruth begun more than two millennia ago, a remnant of David and Solomon migrated into Maritime Southeast Asia which comprises what is now Brunei, East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, and Singapore, as well as Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia, with a sizeable minority of Malays migrating back to their tribal allotments in Sephardic Judah, besides Terrestrial and Figurative Jordan.
